Weekly Wrap-up, November 2, 2018

There have been a lot of different activities and events this week.   The class has been excited by Halloween and was looking forward to the Harvest Feast.  Both events were successful.

On Thursday morning, we had ECO.  This session focused on decomposition and its importance in the life cycle of the forest.  Children became "Decomposition Detectives" and looked for evidence of decay.

Today we were visited by Terri a dental hygienist from the Plainfield Dental Practice.  She talked to the class about keeping their teeth healthy, demonstrated proper brushing and flossing techniques and left them a bag of dental products.  She also amazed the class with some interesting facts - such as your teeth are alive and that there are about 600 different bacteria in your mouth at time.  Ask your child what they learned from Terri.

Parent Conferences

Parent conferences are scheduled for Monday, November 12th and Wednesday, November 14th.  Thank you to everyone for responding so quickly and being flexible with your scheduled time.  If your schedule changes and you are unable to attend your scheduled conference, please let me know.  I look forward to discussing your child's progress and goals for the rest of the year.  Please remember, children do not typically attend the fall conferences.

Book Order

Book orders were sent home last week.  They are due on November 12th.  Book orders may be placed online or by using the paper order form.

 Winter Traditions

In December, we will be studying the way that different cultures and/or families celebrate.  We will discuss a variety of holidays and cultural traditions.  If you would like to visit and teach our class about a tradition, please let me know.

ECO

Our next ECO session is Wednesday, November 14th.  Please let me know if you are interested and available to join us.
