Fairy Tale Festival
Information about costumes and an invitation to the Fairy Tale Festival was sent home in Friday Folders. Families are welcome to attend. The class is excited to be presenting their plays to our guests on Thursday, June 14th. Jenna Ryan will be coordinating the food for this special event. We are asking families to donate foods related to a fairy tale, if possible. You can be a creative or literal as you wish. For example, you might send in Teddy Grahams for The Three Little Bears, apple slices for Sleeping Beauty, magic wands, or gingerbread cookies. If you prefer to send snacks without a theme connection, that is fine too.Library books
Arlyn has asked me to remind everyone to look for and return library books. Many students still have books checked out. Students will not be able to bring home a summer book bag if they have books that have not been returned.Technology Night

First Lego League Information
Do you want to inspire kids in STEM, maybe FIRST is for you!
5 years ago, I started a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team because I wanted to give my son that inspiration. Legos and Robotics is a big draw for the FLL program (and it was for us too), but the what keeps the kids (and coaches) returning season after season is the Project. Kids are encouraged to tackle real world problems, come up with real world solutions, and share them with real experts. Then last year we introduced 14 EMES kids to FIRST, with the FLL Jr. program. Again FLL Jr. has the draw of Legos but they used those Legos to study water and water related issues. Next year, I been asked to Mentor the FIRST Tech Challenge team at U32 and I will be starting a new FLL team for to-be 3rd and 4th grade girls. This is FIRST's 40th anniversary will see the return to the inaugural theme, “Space” (as well as 50th anniversary of the moon landing), and may be a great time to start a new team. The FLL community is currently planning a number new resource for parents, educations and the community. I will be hosting a table with information at Tech Night, please feel free to stop by and learn more.
Thanks - Shawn Kasulka
Congratulations to all the talented EMES students and staff. The talent show was wonderful!
