As you may have seen in the school newsletter, EMES is in the process of hiring a new first grade teacher for next year. Our class has been given the honor of being the class that will participate in this process. We will be the class that the candidates teach a lesson to when they visit for their 2nd interview. After the lessons are complete, our class will have an opportunity to express their feelings about which candidate will be the best fit for our school. I've tried to explain to the class that they are contributing to the process, that they are not picking the new teacher but you may hear that they are selecting the new teacher.
The guest teachers will be visiting our room early next week, mostly likely Tuesday and Wednesday. I will be in the room, as will the rest of the interview committee when the lessons are taking place. At this time, there are 3 candidates that will be teaching lessons.
