Weekly Wrap-up, September 8th

We enjoyed our second week of school, despite some weather challenges.  As a class, we worked together to learn routines and establish expectations.  Our big behavioral focus for the week was "Whole Body Listening".  Whole Body Listening is an important skill that we will continue to discuss and practice throughout the year.

PBIS Celebrations
This week we filled 2 chip buckets and earned classroom celebrations.  For one celebration, we went outside and played tag games.  The other celebration was a viewing of a Wild Kratts episode.  I'm very proud of how hard everyone is working to earn woodchips.

Parent Information Night
It was a pleasure to see so many parents at Parent Information Night.  We began with a presentation by Mr. Blanchard about P.E. Lab, a new integrated learning opportunity for our students and then moved to classrooms.  In our room, I presented information about our "typical" day, classroom climate and topics that we will be studying this year.  If you were unable to make it and would like more information about what was discussed, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Picture Day
School Picture day is Friday, September 15th.  Picture order forms were sent home on Friday, September 8th.  If you did not receive one or would like an additional envelope, please let me know.  The purchase of picture packages is optional.   All students will have their pictures taken for the yearbook and lunch cards.

Outdoor Gear
Most days of the week, we head outside early in the day for Adventure Play.  During this time the grass is often still damp from the night before and it tends to be a bit chilly.  Please help your child to remember appropriate clothing for our outdoor time.  If you would like your child to leave clothing or shoes at school, he/she may safely store his/her hallway cubby.

School Hike Day
Our annual school hike has been rescheduled from Friday, September 22nd to Friday, September 29th.  If you are interested in joining your child on the hike, please see Jane Badger in the office to complete the appropriate volunteer paperwork.  Paper work and additional informational about the school hike will be sent home soon.
