Big Buddies
This year our class has partnered with Ms. Gallagher's 5/6 class for buddies. Each student has at least one 5th or 6th grade student partner. In some cases, first graders have 2 buddies as Ms. Gallagher's class is larger than ours. We gathered for the first time on Friday and began to work building relationships across the grade. During our initial buddy times we will be working on developing social skills and communications skills. In the short time we were together, the students were already connecting with their buddies. It was great to hear the Big Buddies talk about how things were when they were "young".

The annual School Hike will be held this Friday, September 29th. Students should come to school prepared to send the day outside hiking. It is important that they have appropriate footwear (hiking boots or sneakers), a backpack and plenty of food and snacks. Students will be expected to carry their own packs so please help your child to pack reasonably. Dressing in layers is also a good idea as the weather will likely change throughout the day.
