Special Activities

On Monday, we received our final mission from the SSDA and received our Word Detective Badges.  Our final mission has us travelling throughout the school and reading words related to the room we were in.  For example, in the office we read words such as filing and equipment.  When we returned to our room we discovered the SSDA had left us popcorn, lemonade and new books to read.  We enjoyed our candle lit snack and the new books.  We also received our badges.

Kindness

Throughout the next few weeks our class will be focusing on kindness.  We read What is Kindness and talked about how it is not always easy to be kind.  The students brainstormed ways to be kind which included using manners, giving compliments and doing things for others without being asked.  One of the big messages will be how being kind makes you feel and how it makes others feel.  If you notice your child being extra kind, please let me know and I will share it with the class.

A classroom kindness elf arrived this morning.  Her name is Amiable but her friends call her Ami.  She challenged us to light up our school with kindness.  She told us that she will leave kindness challenges for our class over the next few weeks.
