We had a wonderful first day in first grade! Everyone was excited to be together and to start learning our routines. During the first few weeks of school, we will spend a lot of time developing and practicing classroom expectations and routines. Establishing and practicing these routines early on helps to build a solid foundation of student skills that will allow us to work and learn together more efficiently throughout the year.
This morning, we began to learn our morning routine and started to practice some of the routines for Adventure Play. Adventure Play will happen most mornings and we will typically be outside for Adventure Play. During Adventure Play, we will utilize games and activities to focus on developing skills such as problem solving, collaboration and communication.
Folders
Communication folders were sent home today. In the folders you will find a packet of information from the school office. Please review the packet and update the information as needed. Return the packet to school as soon as possible. Some students also received a Family Handbook. One copy of the handbook was sent home per family (with the oldest sibling in the family). If you did not receive a copy of the handbook or need a second copy, please let me a know.
Communication Form
I'm asking families to please complete a Communication Form for my information. I will use the information provided to compile a class email list and as a permission form for posting about your child on our classroom blog. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Follow by Email
I encourage families to sign-up to follow the blog by email. By doing so, you will receive emails whenever there is a new post on the blog. If you have difficulty signing up please let me know.
