Weekly Wrap-up, May 5th

Observing tadpoles

This week we began to explore Fairy Tales and Folktales.  Over the next several weeks, we will be reading and responding to traditional, non-traditional and fractured fairy tales.  As we explore similarities and differences between versions of these tales, we will also explore character traits and work on our reading fluency.  We are planning to showcase our knowledge with some type of performance in early June.  As soon as the details are worked out, we will let you know.

ECO
The weather cooperated on Tuesday and the rain stopped for our ECO session.  We began with two games in the field and then walked to Mrs. Gariboldi's frog pond.  Our intent was to observe frog's eggs but we discovered that they had all hatched.  We caught and observed tadpoles.  Many of us got wet trying to catch the tadpoles, but everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon.

Field Trips
We currently have four field trips planned for between now and then end of year.  If you are interested in chaperoning one or more trips, please let me know.  Permission slips and additional details regarding the trips will be sent home as each trip grows closer.

Wayside Restaurant Trip - Wednesday, May 10th

• Requested donation:  $6 to cover food, tax and tip 
• Chaperones and drivers needed 
• Permission slip was sent home on Friday, May 5th.  
• Please return the permission slip as soon as possible.

Mallory Brook - E.C.O. Trip - Friday, June 2nd
