Kindness Projects

Yesterday we kicked off a month long focus on kindness.  We have discussed what it means to be kind and different ways that people can be kind.  Throughout the month of December we will be doing projects around the theme of kindness.

This morning a "Kindness Elf" arrived in our classroom.  Each day, the Kindness Elf will visit our classroom with a kindness challenge to be completed during the day.  Please ask your child what the Kindness Elf left as a task.   (Today's activity was to give someone a compliment.)

We have also created a bulletin board and will be tracking kind behaviors we notice in others.  Each day we will gather and share things that we saw our classmates doing that were kind.  I've also challenged the class to be extra kind outside of school.  If you notice your child being extra kind, feel free to drop me a note and I will add it to our board.  Our goal is to accumulate 100 kind acts before winter break.  We decided that if everyone did one kind thing a day, we would more than pass that goal.
