All of the children received book bags today. They are very excited to bring home books to read over the weekend. The books in their bags should be ones that they are able to read independently. We are continuing to work on picking "Just Right" books, so it is possible, they are not a perfect fit. If your child's books are too difficult, please just write a note and stick it in the bag. It is not necessary for anyone to struggle through a book. The intent of the book bags is for students to practice reading and gain confidence while reading.

Off-site Learning Opportunity
This year we will be visiting Fairmont Farm several times. These trips are part of our science and social studies units. We will be exploring changes in the farm across the seasons and noticing similarities between adults and their offspring. We will be walking to the farm. On Tuesday, October 24th we will be walking to Fairmont Farms for our first visit. We will leave the school around 1:00 pm and return around 2:30. Please be sure your child is dressed in clothes that are comfortable for walking and appropriate for being in a barn. If you would like to join us for this trip, please let us know. There is a permission slip for farm visits in Friday folders. Please return it to school on Monday.
Parent Conferences
Parent conferences are going to be held on November 11th. In this week's Friday Folder, you will find a schedule request sheet. Please fill it out, indicating your top choices and return it to school as soon as possible. I will do my best to schedule conferences at your requested time. If you are unable to attend at any of the suggested times, please let me know and we can arrange an alternate time.
Class Pictures
If your child did not receive a class picture, please let me know. I just received a few from LifeTouch and I do not know who needs them.
