Today we discussed their goals for the year and the things that they would like to learn about this year. They are eager to become better readers and stronger writers. They are excited about science and looking forward to learning about animals.
For some students the first few weeks may seem "boring" as we are working to build routines that we will use throughout the year and to develop our classroom community. It is important to establish these behaviors early on as the routines allow the students to work independently and to feel ownership of their learning. If your child is feeling "bored", please help him/her to remember that we will be adding many layers of learning to our day.
Next week is Parent Information Night. This is a new evening for adults only. Each teacher will be presenting information on their class and their expectations. The sessions will last 20 minutes (approximately) and each teacher will present twice. Please see the school newsletter for more information.

If you have not, yet filled out the parent contact info form, please do so. It helps me to know how to get in touch with you.
In Friday Folders you will find:
- an ECO Welcome Letter and Permission Form
- School Hike Information
Please complete both forms and return them to school as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful long weekend.
